Looking Glass Self

Isn’t it a wonder how one can live in a world of pretence knowingly things happens in reality but denies the actual fact, that it did happen.

Self-denial or Living in a world of pretence?

How does one again, pretend they’re happy but in actual fact that they are feeling the total opposite.

Then again, portraying a “Front Stage” and hiding your “Backstage”.

Shakespeare crafted the famous sentence "All the world is a stage, and all the men and women merely players".

Social psychologist Erving Goffman had a similar dramaturgical analogy. Familiar?

People show how they want to be seen. He’s the actor. And other people like what they see. They’re the audience. An actor will only show their “frontstage” – how others see them. And Audience would love to see an actor put on a good show. Thus does it make the actor a freaking liar? Is it wrong to enjoy a good show?

In order to have a good show, An actor wouldn’t portray themselves in front of an audience. What the audience didn’t get to see is their “backstage”. The reason for doing so? Not being able to grasp the fact the show on stage will be less than a mediocre?

People lived in a world of pretence, and others self-deny. I Questioned the unanswerable.  Hoping the truth will be answered by that one. To that one – Why? Be in a state of self-denial.

This artificial, willed credulity of Human plays happens in Life. Which makes us all…? Liars. Pretenders. Deniers.

This week is Food Week!

My hands had the "cooking-itch Syndrome" so it’s back to the kitchen for some nice-smelling food MADE WITH LOVE by .. yours truly.

I was inspired by a friend whom i lost along the way.. who once made me this dish fer me @ his place. Not wanting to share his "secret recipe" , i made a trip to ma fav. place in da web - google.com

Guess wad ? It’s Macaroni & Cheese! I would say it turned out pretty well. Baked 2 trays of it… Extra cheeseeeee. It’s easy to make & it’s fast. =)

After one successful attempt, i still had that itcH to bake moreeeee! So wads next…

So the following day… was Brownies Day!! So chocolate lovers, love me! i added like extra cocoa while making it, with melted choc on top of the brownie  once its done… topped with m&ms. According to Din, ma food critic(mcm faham).. it tastes juz right.. Hoho.

I won’t say it’s successful bcoz da choc ain’t perfect enough to my liking. I like it even more chocolaty. And it was mistaken fer a "cake" by ma male cuzz ( which then i got to know that ma brownie went all the way to yishun) albeit it’s a job well-done fer a first-timer. Beginner’s luck. Pfft.

Kindda spongy bcoz i added extra eggs.. i was talking on da phone.. while carrying the egg tray.. and it dropped on da floor.. so wad da heck.. i added the broken eggs in ma recipe. Hahas! Thus explained da spongy texture. (the eggs are clean fyi) I promise it won’t happen again.=P
